Two local heroes were nominated for the new D. Little and B. Rhees Posthumous Recognition Award for outstanding lifetime service to the community.

In addition to being recognized by their organizations, a few of the volunteers will receive special awards. These awards include the聽Claire Reck Volunteer of the Year Award which will be presented to a聽person who has made significant contributions in service to a nonprofit or civic group. The individual who wins this award exemplifies selfless giving in the spirit of Claire and others like her. The聽Service to Youth Award will be presented to an individual in recognition of the spirit of giving as it impacts the lives of youth in our community. The聽Commitment to Community Award will be presented to the volunteer who has been involved in a number of organizations or events with a substantial number of service hours.聽The Star Award will presented in recognition of someone committed to the importance of making the world a better place. The聽David Little and Bob Rhees Posthumous Recognition Award will be presented in memory of those who gave the better part of their lives to volunteer service in the Manchester community and beyond.
