Launch Ministries Coming to Manchester
A new church is coming to Manchester. Pastor Laurie Downs is bringing Launch Ministries to聽the Manchester Professional Center (behind Dr. Eccles office on West Main St.) to hold meetings and be the headquarters for the ministry.
The church was started in 2002 and has affiliations with the Evangelical Association of Churches and Ministries as well as World Ministry Fellowship. They have met in a variety of locations including Gregory, Chelsea, and Unadilla.聽 Pastors Downs has felt the Lord leading her to Manchester for years.聽 Laurie says Launch Ministries is very much 鈥渃ome as you are鈥 and their mission is to 鈥渉elp those that are hurting, helpless, and hopeless launch into the next phase of their life.鈥
The聽church聽will begin with a Sunday morning service at 10 AM., but as a part of their vision hope to add other offerings. 聽Some of the things they have talked about doing is to hold a mid-week service, add cell groups, host movie nights, reach out into the community by providing food and clothing for those in need, and to build a relationship and work with the schools.
