screen-shot-2016-09-25-at-1-15-59-pmThe Community Resource Center (CRC) has now sent out volunteer nomination letters to all of the non-profit groups in the Manchester area. Groups have been asked to chose one or more聽volunteer(s) to聽nominate for recognition at the 29th Recognition Banquet coming up in聽November.

Over the past 28 years, the Banquet has provided this forum so area organizations can put a spotlight on those who go the extra mile to make their聽organization and the community successful.聽Two聽years ago, a separate special award was introduced that organizations can nominate deceased volunteers to receive, the聽D. Little-B. Rhees Posthumous Award.

The 2016 event is on Friday, November 4th at St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea dining room. Cocktails and appetizers start at 6 pm聽and the evening wraps up around 9 pm.聽The cost per attendee is $45 but organizations聽receive one dinner free of charge for every 5 they pay for. The banquet also serves as a fundraiser for the CRC, with part of the price of dinner聽going to the CRC to help community members who are in need. That portion is considered a donation and is tax deductible.

As always, the聽Banquet features a silent auction with many new items this year as well as those from area businesses and artisans. This year, a few select items will be auctioned live during the event as a reflection of this year’s theme,聽鈥淕oing Once, Going Twice鈥 Community volunteers are our WINNING bid!鈥

To nominate one or more 鈥渟uper鈥 volunteers in your organization, fill out the forms your organization received聽and return them no later than Friday, October 7, 2016 to insure your nominee is included in the selection for special awards and the program. If your organization didn’t receive their nomination forms but would like to participate this year, call the CRC at 428-7722 or email聽manchestercrc@sbcglobal.net.
