Josephine Watne (1922 – 2017)

Her Legacy鈥.Watne, Josephine, age 94 passed away April 8, 2017 at Cambrian Assisted, Tecumseh. She was born on August 10, 1922 in Detroit, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Teresa (Barone) Stagliano. Josephine married Vernie Watne on August 1, 1964 and he preceded her in death in 1991. Josephine was a true 鈥減eople person.鈥 She loved her family and had a joyous zest for life. Josephine poured her talents into creating jewelry, mini doll house, playing the organ/piano or making her 鈥渇amous鈥 lasagne. Her spirit will carry on in the lives of those she loved.

Her Family鈥.Josephine is survived by her children: James (Judy McGill) Preston, Barbara (Steve) Cook, Timothy (LouAnn) Preston, Robert (Pamela) Preston, Murline Watne, Jane (Denny) Alickson and Karen Watne; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Jo was preceded in death by 2 sisters, one brother and her grandson: Jimmy Preston.

Her Farewell鈥osephine family greeted friends on Wednesday, April 12, at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church beginning at 9:30am followed by聽Mass at 11:30am with Rev. Fr. Bosco Padamattummal as Celebrant. Interment St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery. In honor of Josephine, memorial donations may be shared with St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, American Heart Association, or Hospice of Lenawee.
