Annual Saline Craft Show coming Nov. 10
The Saline Craft Show, now in its 32nd year, is rated as one of the top 10 shows in Michigan.听This annual event, to beheld November 10, is hosted on the grounds of Saline Middle School, 7190 N. Maple Road, Saline from 8听am 鈥 3:30 pm.听Again over 260 crafters will showcase their most recent and exceptional work, including decorative painting, stoneware, rugs, birdhouses, holiday decorating ideas, ceramics, calligraphy and clothing.听This year it will also feature听Kristie Niemiec and Lori Dickie, Manchester residents, with their hand carved wood sculptures.听
All artists will be present and available the day of the show to customize and personalize their works. This show provides both crafts and art, from the latest in shabby chic to handmade furniture and hand-painted clothing.听Traveling from 14 states and 155 Michigan cities, they will be selling their own 鈥渙ne-of-a-kind鈥 handcrafted items, and appeal to the frenzied shoppers who line up before the doors open to rush to their favorite booth or discover their newest favorite artist or craft person.听A total of听34 new crafters will join the show for the first time this year.
Last year, this one-day holiday extravaganza attracted听more than 10,000 customers and brought crafters from throughout the Midwest including Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin as well as Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, New York and Pennsylvania.听听In a recent Facebook contest, Nicole Sedlock, a Saline Craft Show follower, said, 鈥Over the years, I have tried to continue the tradition from my childhood of looking forward to craft shows. I have attended this show for the last 3 years with my mom. Once we discovered the Saline show (in November) we both were so excited; by the time we left, we were already looking forward to the Spring show.鈥
The Saline High Craft Show is a juried craft show to ensure show visitors and shoppers of receiving the highest quality, one-of-a-kind and limited edition work to benefit both our customers and school community.听These crafters鈥 displays embody skills and reflect respect for both the materials used and the processes.听Their handcrafted products feature original designs that can enhance the beauty of the buyer environment whether used in the home, garden or personally.
Throughout the show, students representing various organizations of Saline High School will be present at a concession stand, bake sale and other activities.听The youth groups involved have the opportunity to promote citizenship, practice life skills and leadership, as well as earn money for organized school events.听This show benefits student youth groups in the district including Cross Country, Swim Team, Choral groups, Para-professionals, Baseball and Track teams.
Admission charge for the Saline High Craft Show is $5.听This show will once again be held in one building located at 7190 North Maple Road, Saline.听Due to crowded conditions, we request no strollers please.听Customers may take advantage of the free shuttle bus service providing transportation from Faurecia (previously Visteon), designated local businesses and schools.听Saline Central Campus has available free parking spaces and is completely handicap accessible.听
