Ruth Audrey Grossman Goodell (1924 – 2018)
Ruth Audrey Grossman Goodell, a lifelong resident of Manchester, went to her heavenly home on October 17, 2018 at the age of 93.
Ruth was born October 31, 1924 to George and Matilda (Schaible) Grossman. She was a 1942 graduate of Manchester High School. She married George Goodell on May 6, 1944. He preceded her in death on December 4, 2005. Ruth worked as secretary at Manchester Middle School for 24 years and retired in 1986. Ruth loved camping and traveling with her husband and family. She loved reading, cooking and helping at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester where she was a lifelong member. She is survived by her children; Linda (Richard) Simkiss, Larry (Janet) Goodell, and David (Charlene) Goodell, eight grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, 14 step-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Also preceding her in death are two infant sisters, Marie and Gertrude; brothers Rolland 鈥淩ollie鈥 Grossman, George 鈥淒utch鈥 Grossman and Milton 鈥淩usty鈥 Grossman.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be directed to Emanuel United Church of Christ, or Great Lakes Caring Hospice.
The Goodell family will receive family and friends on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 10 am to 12聽noon at Emanuel United Church of Christ in Manchester, MI 324 W.
